Do I need to put a GPS unit in each vehicle?
No. Tracking works through the Detrack driver app on a phone or tablet, so there is no hardware to buy, fit or maintain. That also means it works for subcontractors and owner-drivers, who only need to download the app.
Will it track my drivers when they are not working?
No. Location is captured while a driver is logged in and working through their jobs. It is there to show the progress of a delivery, not to follow anyone on their own time, which matters when drivers are using their own phones.
How is it priced: per driver, per vehicle, or per delivery?
Per driver app, per month. There is no charge per delivery and no cap on jobs. Office, admin and sales logins are unlimited and included, so everyone who needs to see where a delivery is can have access without adding to the bill.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Detrack is month to month and you can cancel at any time. Annual billing is available if you would rather pay yearly and save 10%.
Will my drivers actually use it?
This is the question we hear most, usually about an older driver or a contractor who is not interested in new apps. The driver app has three main buttons: see the job, complete the job, capture the proof. Most drivers are running it properly by the end of their first shift, and you can keep printing a paper run sheet alongside it while everyone settles in.
We are on paper and a whiteboard today. How do jobs get in?
Three ways: type them in, bring them in with a spreadsheet import, or connect the system you already use. Detrack has native integrations with tools like Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Shopify, plus an open API for anything else. If you are not sure what your system can export, bring it to a demo and we will look at it with you.
What happens where there is no phone signal?
The driver app keeps working offline. Jobs already loaded on the phone can still be completed, photos and signatures are captured as normal, and everything syncs the moment the connection returns.
